Sylvia Atencio My passion as an image consultant and visual stylist is to inspire clients to make a style statement that truly captures the essence of who they are and who they want to be every day.  I focus on women and men who want to learn how to accentuate their positive attributes, at any age.  The ability to communicate with my clients is essential, and I listen as well as evaluate, organize, coach, and educate.  With a family background in visual merchandising and window display, and an education in Textiles and Clothing, I was destined to work in the field of fashion styling from a young age. A resumé that ranges from silent auction design and display, model selection and photo styling, to wardrobe and lifestyle consultation qualifies me in a variety of fields that are centered around optimal visual appeal.

As a young girl growing up Kansas City, my early start in visual merchandising began by assisting my father in  installing window displays for various businesses.   Content to sit at a sewing machine, I designed and sewed one-of-a-kind pieces for myself and friends throughout high school.  A major in Textiles and Clothing with a minor in Languages and Art in college helped to satisfy a growing hunger for a career in fashion merchandising and visual display.

Thirty years of creating and installing window displays and merchandising retail stores and wholesale businesses helped to fine-tune a keen eye for unique visual presentation.  Armed with experience, an eye for detail, and a reputation for creative execution, I began styling models, accessories, and photo shoots for the Denver Post.  This led to an opportunity to outfit and re-style  television personalities at a CBS station, and subsequent opportunities as a wardrobe and lifestyle consultant.

Along the way, there were many opportunities to volunteer for various charitable organizations. A desire to “bring something to the table” led me to the area of silent auction setup and display. Going beyond the simple and obvious auction table bid sheet and description formula, I developed a format of building a visual display to showcase each donated item and in some cases increased auction earnings by 25%.

Adding a category as an auction product and event designer has increased my wide range of creative capabilities.  My versatility and eye for style have combined to appeal to a broad market of end users.  Comfortable in the worlds of fashion, philanthropy, and design, I can add flair and style to anything that needs that extra touch!

Elegance is the art of being astonishing without creating astonishment.
